Ynglŷn â hanner cyntaf y gêm hon, wel, gorau po leiaf a ddywedir – o safbwynt Glynebwy, ta beth! Ar y llaw arall, bu Aberfan yn hapus dros ben â’u tri chais gan David Pritchard, Joe Tomalin-Reeves a Luke Davies bu’n rhoi’r fantais iddynt ar yr egwyl, 17-0. A dweud y gwir, fu Glynebwy ddim yn y gêm, bron o gwbl, ac yn chwarae’n di-batrwm, heb bwrpas.

Bu popeth yn newid yn yr ail hanner. Aeth Stef Thomas drosodd am gais gwych yn yr ail funud, a Rhys Jones yn trosi’n berffaith o’r ystlys. Wrth i’r gêm barhau, bu blaenwyr Glynebwy yn drech na’u gwrthwynebwyr ac yn pwyso’n drwm arnynt. Ar ôl i Ashley Sweet fynd yn agos iawn at sgorio – ond ‘na’ meddai’r TMO – bu capten Ronny Kynes yn mynd dros y gwyngalch – “Catch’n’Kynes”, wrth gwrs, jyst i blesio Phil Steele oedd yn sylwebu ar y gêm –  i wneud y sgôr yn 12-17. Bu Sweet yn sicrhau gêm gyfartal ar 72 munud, a throsiad Jones yn rhoi Gwŷr y Dur yn y blaen am y tro cyntaf.

Gyda 7 munud ar ôl, bu’r Dewiniaid yn taflu popeth dan haul at Lynebwy, ond bu amddifyn y tîm cartre’n gryf, trefnus ac yn ymdopi’n ddigon cyffyrddus i gipio buddugoliaeth oedd i’w gweld yn annhebyg i’r eithaf awr yn gynt.

Seren y gêm oedd wythwr Glynebwy, Lewis Young.
