In a much better performance, Ebbw fought back fiercely from a 21-3 deficit to 21-17, dominating the 2nd and 3rd quarters and scoring tries through Ewan Rosser and Ashley Sweet, both converted by Man of the Match Dan Haymond. Quins’ fourth try took them into a 26-17 lead, Haymond’s penalty brought it back to 26-20 and it looked as if the Steelmen had earned a deserved bonus point. However, as Ebbw tried to run from deep in a thrilling effort to win the game, Mr John penalised them. Nic Reynolds’s kick struck an upright and Ebbw managed to secure and kick the ball dead.
