Ebbw slipped to bottom place in the premiership with this defeat at a wet and muddy Talbot Athletic Ground. Paul King scored the Steelmen’s only try, responding quickly to an Aberavon mistake, and Dan Haymond kicked two penalties. Both sides gave their all in an even, honest contest which Aberavon just about deserved to win.
