Despite scoring five tries, Ebbw came second to Moseley at Billesley Common in the first pre-season friendly. Scorers for Ebbw were Cameron Regan, Ryan Gardner, Dan Haymond, Dai Langdon and Patric Lewis with tries (Gardiner and Lewis crossing on their debuts) and three Langdon conversions.
With 10 minutes left, at 35-31, it looked as if the Steelmen might sneak past their hosts but two well worked last scores took the game away.
Congratulations to Moseley, and best of luck for the season. Nigel Davies and his coaching team will have learned much about their charges and will be working hard in training this week, before the tough encounter expected at Pontypool Park next Saturday.
