Greg’s Thoughts

Last weekend the Steelmen travelled to Maidenhead where they were narrowly beaten by English Championship side London Scottish despite tries from two wingers, former Welsh international Daf Howells and Jordan Thomas and 16 points from boot of Rhys Jones.

Head Coach Greg Woods said; “Although disappointed with the result, as a coaching group we were extremely proud of the intensity and physicality the boys showed against quality opposition. We certainly fronted up and did the town proud”.

Tomorrow, the Steelmen are on the road again this time travelling to the Talbot Athletic Ground to face fellow Welsh Premiership side Aberavon.

“We need to be more disciplined and make sure we stick to our defensive policies this week. It shows the strength in depth of our squad when we can make multiple changes from the starting lineup last week and still put out a quality side”.

“These four preseason games are all about returning the club to rugby and getting as many players back on the pitch. It also provides a fantastic opportunity for our young Dragons academy allocated players to get some minutes of game time in senior rugby”.

“Everyone is looking forward to the game tomorrow and hopefully we can play some attractive attacking rugby” he ended.
